Can the public see my family tree?

Will you release the data to other parties?

I just signed up as a member. But when I tried to log in, nothing seems to happen. What could have gone wrong?

Would there be a subscription fee?

How do I print the family tree?

1. How do I trace my ancestors through SFT?

As SFT is positioned as the single source for genealogy research for Singapore. you may post your enquiry about the name of the person you are looking for in the Discussion Forum. This forum is open to all to view. Hence, anyone who has a clue to the searched person can correspond to you via the forum. SFT does not own a database of searchable old records.

5. Would there be a subscription fee?

To ensure that the system is constantly available for serious users, a subscription fee will be charged to prevent abuse. Currently, we’re giving away free one-year subscriptions during this pilot phase from now to 31 December 2007. Thereafter, we are looking at a cost-recovery charge of around $30 per year (i.e. less than $3 per month) per family tree. There might be separate charges for accessing other genealogy-related databases (possibly private or even foreign databases) when these come online. You will be given a choice either to continue or to terminate your account near the end of the free trial (i.e. after 365 days).
