Step-by-step to participate in the contest

Step 1: Subscribe to the Singapore Family Tree

a) Type in the Singapore Family Tree (SFT) address http://www.sft.com.sg on the address bar. The SFT home page will be shown.

b) Click on the Sign Up button. A screen will be displayed to prompt you to read the Terms and Conditions as shown below.

c) Click the “I Agree” button. The Application screen will be displayed as shown below.

d) Fill in your particulars. Please ensure that your email address, name and contact numbers are valid so that we can contact you to collect your prizes if you do win.

e) Please enter the exact word that you have seen on the screen shown below and click the Submit button.

Step 2: Create my family tree

a) Click the Login button. A login screen will be displayed to prompt you to enter your Userid (must be your current email address) and password.

b) If you have forgotten your email address, click on the Forget Password link and enter your email address.

c) Click on the Send button and the password will be sent to your email address.

d) After you have login, the Home page screen will be displayed.

e) Click on the “Build Family Tree” link on the left menu. The Build Family Tree screen will be displayed on the right side of the window as shown below.

f) Next, click on your own name link. A Summary screen will be shown below.

g) On this screen, you can do one of the following:

1) Add or Delete Parent

2) Add or Delete Spouse

3) Add or Delete Child

4) Just edit your own profile.

h) Click on the “Edit Profile” button and you will be able to enter your name, date of birth, gender.

i) Click on the “Photo” tab to upload your photo as shown below.

j) Click the “Browse” button to browse and select your digital photo from your computer.

k) Click the “Upload” button to upload your photo.

l) To create the profile for your father and mother, click on the Father’s Name link repeat step 5 to 9.

Step 3: Publish my family tree

1. To publish your family tree, you need to click on the Family Gallery link and then click on the Website link on the left menu as shown below.

2. Type in the Folder Name, say “Student Family Tree” in the Folder Name.

3. The default Web Header Name is “Welcome to My Family Tree”. You may wish to amend.

4. Click on the Publish button to publish your family tree. A screen will be shown below if your family tree is published successfully.

5. Please copy the website address, and together with your full name, email address and contact numbers, email it to STO to nhb_sft@nhb.gov.sg for a chance to participate in the lucky draw by 30 June 2008, 5p.m.
